Cotto usually takes a round off here and there and when he took a round off vs Margarito that's when Tony jumped on him and Cotto had to keep moving and therefore never regained his power or his legs. But before the 7th round Cotto was taking Tony to school with counter shots and boxing skill. Margarito is a hell of a fighter no shame in losing to him.
I don't think he took a round off, he was exhausted and beaten up, the signs were already there by the mid-point of the fight. I agree that Cotto was looking great up to the 6th round, but it was a 12 round fight and Margarito had complete beat the fight out of him by the time it was stopped.

On the cards, He was behind by 2 points of two cards and even on the other. I agree with that scoring for the most part, he was losing to Margarito and would've lost a decision if he hadn't been stopped.
