This kind of stuff happens all the time and is not reported. I have seen alot where I am from(East London),but the police don't appear to be doing anything. I personally have been mugged before,5 boys,for no reason,in front of everyone! Did anyone help? Nope!
Also,once,I was walking with my friends,about 11ish@night near a cinema,a dude walks across us towards someone,and he pulls up his top and has a fwooking gun there! I don't really go out late as much anymore,it isn't worth it!
