I'm just wondering how many times we have to hear, "I failed my jab.. my jab didn't fail me.. i just couldn't throw it." and "i felt like my hands were tied behind my back.. i saw openings but couldn't throw a punch" before De La Hoya retires.

He took a tune up fight against Forbes and got beat up. I would say take a tune up fight against someone with less skill just to get back into the swing of things, but he doesn't want to fight more than once, MAYBE twice a year.

If he really wants to fight a decent opponent, i think he really needs to beat someone up first. Get his confidence up, and then fight a big fight. Otherwise, i'd be very surprised to see him win another big matchup. I'd like to see it happen though, i respect DLH.
