Fighters do get old. They do lose the edge over the years that they once had. This happens faster with aggressive fighters and I personally find it insulting that fair weather fans like you quickly turn on a fighter who risk their health over and over again.

Hatton gets shit on all of the sudden for losing? Any fighter who takes real risks lose at some point. Those same fighters earn my respect way more than the ones who carefully craft who their next opponent will be.

Hatton went out on his shield like a man. He got beaten by another man who has taken many risks. We many never see another fighter unite fans in the way Ricky did and that alone deserves respect. Win or Lose.

By the way grade C fighters do not achieve what hatton did. Not even close!
I agree greatly with this. I remember saying a couple of years ago on here that the way Hatton fought wasn't conducive to a long career at the top. His habit of jumping up in weight also in large part did him in I think. The problem is he's too small naturally to move up, but he looks so drained and drawn at 140. Yoyoing in weight and fighting so many wars of attrition, it's actually amazing he had the career he had.
