You are only open if you are getting hit, how many times have Roy JOnes Jr, Mayweather, Whitaker, Hopkins looked open because they've had their hands down, only to be impossible to hit. Ward was so much faster than Miranda he could get away with it, I doubt he would be that open against Dirrell.honestly wasn't too impressed with Ward against Miranda, he was open to the right all night long, and unlike Miranda i think Dirrell will capitalize on it and make him pay dearly
i've seen plenty of Ward's fights and he's hardly as elusive as Jones Jr or Whitaker, and in no way does he have the defensive skill as Hopkins, i'd say put him in with Dirrell later on, but they should get him in against solid world level competition to smooth out the rough edges, i think he has a good future but right now, i'm not so sure that he's ready for the big boys, same thing goes for Dirrell
