Ruben Carter's autobiography was good. It has racial overtones for sure, but not as much as you might think. It was just a down and dirty book. He was a bad ass mofu with a badass upbringing in a badass neighborhood, and he also happened to be black, inasmuch as that fact influenced his experience, it gets discussed.
