I didn't read the books, but I looked up some of the rules of the "Southern Vampire Mystery" universe. It explains some details about Sookie and gives some insight as to why Vampires are so interested in her, and it's not just because she's a telepath and can't be glamoured. I think I have pretty good idea of why Sookie was able to repel Maryann. If you are interested, you can probably find the same stuff and see what I mean.

Too bad she's such a bitch because I don't think I could resist letting Lorraine feed on my. Too bad I don't think we'll be seeing her for a while.

Not for me, I don't like to look anything up that can spoil the show. I didn't read the books either, and I prefer not to know, and watch it all unfold as time goes by.

I know what you mean, when I came across the wiki page and found out Sookie was from another planet although she thinks she's human it bummed me out a bit.

And knowing that Jason dies at the end of this series too
