Pacquiao to sue Mayweather | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7
Pacquiao said he is not against any form of drug testing mandated by any state athletic sports commission whenever, wherever he fights. He just finds it funny and stupid to change a system that has been set for decades now. Pacquiao has undergone drug testing and other medical examinations before and after every fight over the past 15 years and has never failed any of these tests.
“These people think they are doing the sport a great service. They are not,” added Pacquiao. “To Floyd, despite all these accusations, may your Christmas be merry and I will see you in court, soon, too.”

What is so funny and stupid about wanting to update the antiquated testing procedures that we have in boxing? Surely, it would a smart thing to have boxing following the current practices involved in other sports where blood is used along with urine to provide comprensive checks. Manny seems to support the status quo, even though he is probably quite aware that it allows for loopholes. Manny seems to take pride in having never failed a urine test, which I agree is a good thing. But why now the outright aversion to random testing procedures?

The quotes at the end sum up the contradiction and absurdity of the Pac teams response to this entire scandal. How is wanting comprensive testing NOT doing the sport a great service? It just doesn't make any sense. Two athletes getting tested to the highest levels, is surely setting a great example to the boxing world. It is saying top boxers have nothing to hide. It is also saying that boxing may well be able to take it's testing procedures as seriously as in other sports. The final statement from Manny is that the top fighter in the world is choosing a lengthy drawn out court process (which I think he will lose) rather than simply go ahead and show himself as a clean living top level athlete.

It's all very sad really. Manny has dug himself in deep with his response. It could have been resolved in minutes and yet they have allowed it become something else. Manny has made himself look suspicious in his response more so than through any comments by Mayweather Snr. or Goldenboy. Lashing out with legal proceedings is the icing on the cake of this whole sorry exercise in futility.
I'm with you man. This what I'm talking about. It seems like nobody gives a damn who's fighting clean. You can tell some of these guys in this forum that the regular testing is a complete joke until you're blue in the face and they'll just reply with "well why does Manny have to be tested (as if he's the only one in the fight getting tested)" or "how come some other fight isn't requiring the testing?" They don't want to think about the fact that Manny isn't clean and they would rather support shitty testing instead of GOOD testing because that is what Manny wants so they support Manny. They see this as an attack on Manny and not about preserving the purity of the biggest match probably ever. This is the same type of stance fans took in 1998 (including me) when we were amazed by Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa chasing Roger Maris' homerun record (the most famed record in ALL sports). I still remember being a dumbass kid watching that race getting pissed whenever people would accuse my boy Sosa of roiding (who had never failed any test; because there was no policy on roids back then). Come to find out years later that the whole thing was pretty much a sham because both guys were roided up most likely. Now all of us fans want asteriks next to the record and both guys not in the Hall of Fame because of roids and what not.

These guys on here are just like us baseball fans back in 1998. Denial and anger. I'm not saying Manny is roiding but this is ALL too familiar. We see ALL these guys accused of roids and they come out and they say "I don't know what roids are", "I did it through hard work (which BTW is still semi true, PEDs can't turn all of us into Hall of Fame caliber players, you still have to have natural god given talent and an insane work ethic to be elite, PEDs or not)", etc...and then five years later you find out that they were on some roid list, or some investigative reporter did some searching and found a shipment of roids to the guys house, or the government busted a PED dealer and a guys name was on the list for roids, or the guy tests positive for roids, or the guy shared this information with too many people and someone sells a story for money.

I'm all for cleaning up this sport's testing policies now. I'm not going to support loopholes just because they are there. Instead of all these whispers and rumors, there will actually be tests to prove that both guys are clean, and not all of us are supporting that? Come on...
There will be a change for all of boxing when they test pac and pbf too weather they test positive or not.(How come i don't get to see that highlighted phrase on this forums nowadays?) After that it should be mandatory i agree on all boxers from now on..
