The first part was just a joke really.

What I was trying to say is that stiff laws against gun-ownership, something I am in favor of, don't necessarily preclude a high-level of gun-ownership. I assume in the UK it is possible to legally obtain a firearm in much the same way as it is in Canada. The laws are aimed at controlling who has easy access to such weapons. Now it's not always successful, but it is important IMO.

I agree that pot should be legalized. I actually think all drugs should be at least decriminalized. No one is going to wake up and decide to smoke crack just because it's not illegal anymore.
