Why Floyd truly is an all time great

Prime Mosley would have done well in that position but is Floyd in his prime? I don't think Prime Floyd gets caught with that shot

If its prime mosley throwing that punch, it would or will have landed on anybody at some point during the night including prime floyd. Shane was too fast/explosive not to land on even the best defenders at some point during a fight. The only reason I don't consider floyd prime at the higher weights is because he doesn't use his legs as much and prefers to stand his ground. He was hit flush not because of age or diminishing reflexes, but because floyd thought he would catch shane in the middle of a wide overhand, which he did. He just didn't expect it to have little effect. Although it still wasn't flush, neither was the shot Shane landed.

Shane Mosley couldn't land jack on Winky Wright in 24 rounds, except when Winky Wright stupidly dropped his hands and let Shane Mosley hit him.

But i do agree prime for prime it would be a closer fight, i don't care what anyone says. Shane Mosley showed no stamina at all.

And people are overrating Floyd Mayweather Jr's performance a bit too much.

I mean except for his win over Antonio Margarito, who's not even legit i mean he looked like a pillow puncher in his last fight.

What has Shane Mosley done recently ? he was outboxed by Miguel Cotto although it was close Shane Mosley looked past his best.

He had a good performance against Luis Collazo in 2007, but Luis Collazo broke his left hand in the 2nd round. So thats really in doubt how good Shane Mosley could of done had that not happened. Considering Luis Collazo was landing his left hand up until that point. And then couldn't use it for the rest of the fight.

He struggled badly with Ricardo Mayorga, and looked shot until the last round.

I mean in all honesty i don't think Shane Mosley has looked at his peak since 2001, and his performances since the 1st Vernon Forrest fight have been very shaky, infact i think he's only really had two good performances since 2002, one against a very faded Fernando Vargas, and one against Luis Collazo who broke his hand.

Certainly not the same Shane Mosley, who had great stamina and a two fisted lightning attack who outpointed ODLH in 2000, or beat Wilfredo Rivera in a great war back in 1999.

Go back and watch the winky fights esp the second, Shane was hammering him with hooks around his guard, that's why wink dropped his hands to prove he couldn't be hurt by shane. The second fight was very competitive, very. The mayorga fight, didn't shane win by kayo?

Also both fights were at 154, mayorga was 174 in the ring so shane was basically fighting a LHW and still scored a kayo. Winky was also bigger than shane and eventually went up to 170 for a bhop fight. So the game naturally smaller man lost to winky the guy who whitewashed tito, argubly beat Bhop, and def beat MW champ JT. Point is Shane landed on Winky too and shane at 154 was not prime. Floyd vs Winky at 154 would have yielded the same result, a win for winky over a smaller good man.

I don't know why your debating with me to be honest, im agreeing with you that Shane Mosley is past his prime. Yet your trying to defend he isn't im not really sure where your coming from bro.

The 2nd Winky Wright fight wasn't any real different to the 1st fight, except Shane Mosley was more spirited. But points wise it was still a pretty wide loss like 8 rounds to 4.

Ricardo Mayorga was only fighting once a year, and was destroyed by ODLH, i don't think anyone really excepted Shane Mosley to struggle that much i know i sure didn't. His accuracy was a bit all over the place, and he was only fighting in spurts.

Something a prime Shane Mosley never done, and as i said except for the last round it wasn't a good performance and to be honest i thought he looked shot.

No, I understand that you were agreeing, just think you were a little harsh on the winky performance saying shane didn't land "JACK SHIT" that's a stretch...and the second fight was 114-114, 115-113, 115-113..very close fight...

Well i agree it probably was a bit harsh, and i admit i haven't seen the fight in awhile, but as i remember it Shane Mosley was more spirited. But he was still being frustrated with Winky Wright's jab and tight guard. I don't remember him having much success upstairs, i believe he went to the body more ? but scoring wise i didn't think it was that close, in all honesty i thought Winky Wright was a clear 4 points winner but that's subjective.
