BoxingScene.com was advised by promoter Lou DiBella that IBO middleweight champion Peter Manfredo Jr. is ready, willing, and able to fight Kelly Pavlik on the undercard to Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. According to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, there are ongoing discussions with manager Cameron Dunkin to place Pavlik on the Pacquiao-Margarito undercard.
Additionally, DiBella tells BoxingScene that Manfredo is under serious consideration as a future opponent for WBA champion Felix Sturm - if the German champion defeats Giovanni Lorenzo on September 4.
"I've been on the other end of Kelly Pavlik a number of times. He is a great all-action fighter, but Manfredo is an action fighter himself. Both guys have regional followings. Manfredo would be extremely interested in taking this fight. And if they don't want Manfredo, Ishe Smith is available and very interested in fighting Pavlik," DiBella told BoxingScene.com.
