I think half the problem with anyone Manny faces is that it will always be a disappointment until he faces PBF. I too wanted him to settle the score with Marquez but let's be honest, a blown up 147lb 37 year old Marquez has less of a chance than Mosley. Mosley may be old but at least he's still quick and can dig, it can still be competitive. Berto is a non starter purely down to marketing so Shane makes good sense financially.
Dan Rafael of ESPN and Kevin Iole of Yahoo are upset about this fight:

I found it interesting what Arum said after the Mosley-Mora fight:

"What I've read is not very supportive to make any Mosley-Pacquiao bout. Look, he's going to be 40 and he's in the lighter weights where speed is so important. He's on a show with guys -- example, 20-year-old Saul Canelo Alvarez -- old enough to be his son."

I agree with Taeth that Mosley will be competitive, but the difference in our opinions is that I believe this level of competition won't last very long. I see Pacquiao pulling away after four rounds and maybe stopping Mosley late by TKO. The only hope for a different outcome is that Shane just has trouble with defensive counter-punchers and that was why his performances against PBF and Mora were disappointing, but he was impressive against Margarito. Pacquiao isn't a counter-puncher so maybe Shane won't have as much trouble with him.
