You must be joking, he had one of the best Heavyweight jabs of the modern era. Infact he outjabbed Lennox Lewis, so he must of been able to box a bit.

Mercer out jabbed Holyfield as well but he definitely did not avoid punches and relied on his chin too much as a defence.

Ray did what a lot of guys with tough chins and a good punch do they believe in it too much...Then what happens is after they are stopped once they seem to not be able to handle the abuse too much
