Was Paquiao/Mosley a success?

I don't know how anyone (outside of massive Pac nuthuggers) could call this a success.

It was a dumb fight to begin with, given Mosley's past two fights he had absolutely no reason to be in the ring with Pac, and the only way Pac could salvage some kind of moral victory would have been to completely destroy Mosley and be the first one to knock him out.

Awful fight.

He completely destroyed Mosley, to the point that Mosley turned and ran like a scared little Mayweather and got knocked flat on his butt. After this, your boy Mayweather isn't going to fight Manny. He took a chance on the over-the-hill Mosley and nearly got knocked on his butt. He isn't going to take that risk against Manny.
