1. It's now way in hell Oscar dominated the first 8 rounds of the fight, the first four rounds niether fighter did anything, it seemed like they were showing each other too much respect and feeling one another out, for this to say that either fighter dominated these rounds is crazy.
2. Oscar's corner told him to continue to box, the reason was because at that point it was the end of the 9th round and Oscar had begun to run around the ring. His corner specifically told him from rounds 10 (the beggining) to rounds 12 that he did not have the fight in the bag and he can't just run it off.
3. No fighter in the history of boxing ran in the manner of ODH in the championship rounds, RJJ, Hopkins, Whitaker, Wright, Trinidad, any great boxer in this generation who has been up big on the scorecards in the later rounds has never decided to pack it in and say I don't need to box anymore, the reason this happened is because Oscar was tired (he admitted it) and Trinidad was alway's a notorious late starter (David Reid), these were the rounds in which he was alway's strong and the final rounds would have been brutal (Hopkins Vs Taylor)(Chavez Vs Taylor).
4. De La Hoya strong rounds were from 5-8 where he dominated the fight, landing crisp combinations which never hurt Trinidad but had him confused and piled up points. Trinidad strong rounds were from 9-12 where Oscar ran around the ring. That is 4 rounds to 4, and the mistake everybody makes is they judge Oscar's strong rounds as greater than Tito's strong rounds which is true but they count as one round each and Tito didn't have the chance to look as strong as Oscar in his rounds because ODH was running.
5. You have to judge rounds 1-4 to come up with who really won this fight, and it could go either way, watch the fight with the volume down and decide for yourself, if you give anyone of these fighters a sweep of these rounds you are bias.
6. The reason the rematch never happened was because of Oscar's ego, he recieved twenty million for the first match and Tito recieved 10. Both were champions but Oscar had much more star power so he recieved two thirds of the pot which was not fare, after the fight Tito immediately wanted a rematch and told Oscar know that I am the unified champ switch the purses and let's do it again. Oscar declined
