WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev's promoters are studying tapes of Matt Skelton's Commonwealth heavyweight title win over Danny Williams as Frank Warren steps up efforts to secure the Bedford man a world title shot.

Valuev is currently out with a knee injury, but Warren is angling to get Skelton a shot at the giant Russian later this year.

Skelton put himself in the frame with a points win over Williams on Saturday night, the 20th victory of his career.

And now Warren has sent a video of Saturday's contest to Valuev's promoter Wilfred Sauerland.
