to re-cap for the gyus that missed my thread, he said 10% overload and 10% overspeed is optimal for achieving speed.
One point of interest, the guy on the elastic hand exercise is 6 ft 9 ins and 18st 4 llbs. the little fellow on the headband is 6ft 5 ins and 17 st 2 llbs.

We had a lad at teh gym once who would of been maybe even over 6 9"
Long jab johnny (or something) we used to call him... one of the juniors ws as tall as him at 15
used to step over all of the ropes when he got in the ring...
good lads to spar with... really hard getting past their jab and they're not afriad to lead off like some other people are.
scrap can you explain the elastic hand one is the band supposed to pull your hands?
Yes it does the further you go back the more resistance you create, plus it activates the feet a lot better. Makes you move the front foot and creates better posture, plus it teaches you to box off the back foot, and you get better laterell movement

...and it can be done with resistance bands?
Not really, you want 15 mll elastic rope, sailing shops sell it. You want 4 metres of it cut it in half so you have 2 2 metre lengths one put loops either end and a small one in the middle the other put loops in either end. Then clip the middle loop on the end of the other with a snap link and the other over the ring cost 8 qiud away you go
