He lost the fight . come on .
It was a close fight im not argueing that point , but Duran won that fight by 2 rounds at least , he was more dominant , and landed the more telling punches ,he beat Leonard at his own mind games before the fight , then beat him in the ring , the only man to beat SRL in his prime , and the judges was bang on this time , great fight between two great fighters , justice served![]()
just checked boxrec - he didn't

Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
Just listen to the commentators in that first section. Leonard was expected to score an early KO. That's how big a mismatch it was being broadcast as.
Close fight. If it happened today there would be a million "robbery" threads. Fact.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Nah. Duran beat him.
Nope, not even close. Duran bullied him and pushed him around all fight. Leonard just didn't do enough to win. It is Duran's finest moment, he was a clear winner, in fact the scores flatter Leonard. He was beaten before the fight, look at Leonard at the Ref's instructions, he looks unsure, worried and so he should, he was in the ring with a beast and he knew it.
I watched the fight "live" on closed circuit, at a theater in Houston, Texas, the quality was horrible, so even though Duran won a decision it was hard for 'me' to tell who had really won. A few years later I watched the fight again, and while i'll agree that it was a close fight, I still give Duran the nod, mainly because he was the aggressor, who initiated the action most of the fight. As for Leonard getting beaten up by Duran, not really, Ray got caught with some decent shots, but I don't think he was ever badly hurt during the fight.
