I understand the desire to punish people for creating this type of embarrassing disorder - the city I live in rioted because our team lost a fucking hockey game and I was irate - but this is ridiculously punitive.

IMO the government should be looking at fixing the types of social problems which led to the rioting, not creating more poverty and discontent by arbitrarily making examples of people,
