The dude is a very good prospect/contender at this stage but is far from ready to challenge either Klitschko. I'd like to see him in against someone a little fresher, an Arreola type before I'd really rate him as a threat. But he is one to watch

The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
it was worth throwing the towel in wasnt it
he does look like hes getting better and better, i am starting to be convinced, i had excuses for all his other big wins but maybe he is the real deal
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
He has potential to be a good fighter in the division but right now he has no chance against either Klitschko unless they all of a sudden fade drastically.
...You mean Liakahovich coming back out of retirement isn't a worthy excuse?
Helenius is good, but good doesn't cut it vs the Klitschko's. I want to see Helenius battle it out vs a big puncher and THEN he's ready.
Helenius-Arreola or Helenius-Dimitrenko before he gets a shot at Wlad. I do think he'd beat Povetkin, though that would be a good fight.
And looking at the title of the thread I thought brockton wrote it.

Yeah I think a few more fights against the likes of a Grant, Barrett, McCall, Rahman, J C Gomez before even considering such a huge leap towards the K Bros.

HA!!!
Helenius has become the flavor of the month already...
You do realize all he did was beat a former WBO title holder who at his best was average and today is no where near top 5 level.
Both Wladdy & Vitaly would beat this guy.
I would even go on record and say Adamek beats Helenius via TKO.
I don't know Mick, he actually looks very useful compared to most anyone his size barring the Klitschkos. Writing a guy off simply because he is raw and getting hyped isn't much different than being on the other side of the fence and bigging him up. He's a good prospect and I enjoyed watching that fight, he definetly puts his punches together very well for his size.
I'm not writing him off as a boxer.
All I'm saying is he would get battered by either Wlad or Vitaly at this point.
The poster of this thread has him beating up Wlad and having a chance at Vitaly.
My response to that is HA! when the guy hasn't even been tested.
He beat Sergei come on...
I agree he's a good prospect but at this point it's nothing more than that.
Only in the wasteland that is the heavyweight division is a boxer ready for a fight against two great champions after only 16 fights.
Bingo! That's a huge problem with the division today. It's almost completely void of mid level contenders or quality journeymen, making it really hard to actually have a prospect progress properly. The networks are so starved for new blood that they'll rush anyone who isn't complete garbage into a title fight. You could take all kinds of great HW's and figure that either Klitschko would have beaten them badly at the prospect stage of their careers. I'm not sure Wlad is really a GREAT heavy, but he's not losing to somebody with 15 fights, even if that someone is a lot more talented than Helenius.
Well that AND all the prospects in the division are treated with kid gloves for so damn long that they forget what its like to be in an actual fight! Has Helenius REALLY been tested? Povetkin tested himself vs Chambers lo' those many years ago, that wasn't a great fight but it was undefeated prospect vs undefeated prospect and that made it important. Helenius needs experience fights, has he ever gassed out? Has he ever gotten off the canvas to win? Has he dealt with ANY adversityIf not then all the easier for Wlad.
dudes, are u serious?
Helenius would destroy arreola.
look up a few of Helenius KO's on youtube!
arreola would get beat worse than liakhovich.
I know I kind of wanted to go along the lines of this thread and post something a bit radical.
I don't need to look up youtube videos.
I've seen his last 6 fights complete.
He's beaten former champs which is good.
But until he starts fighting top 10 contenders we really don't know.
I'd like to see him vs. Arreola, Haye or even Dimetrenko to see how he can handle a top contender...
