As for the original topic, I don't think it's surprising that Americans, and Westerners in general, are making a big deal out of the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11. It was a shocking, traumatic day, and because of all the new technologies and media coverage it was probably the most documented event of its kind in human history. I still remember the awful feeling in my stomach as I watched it all unfold live on CNN that morning...
Also, the cynical side of me is not surprised that every media outlet with the rights to 10 seconds of footage it going to be running it constantly in an attempt to boost their ratings.
Whether you support their actions or not, what the United States has done, both domestically and internationally, since 9/11 doesn't take away from that fact that it was a horrible day and one deserving of rememberance and reflection.
Whethe the nazi's could have beaten the ruskies is debatable... But they certaintly couldn't have won a war fighting on both fronts. I'm sure we've had this discussion before!!![]()
Without US involvement (which started ILLEGALLY by the way!) D-day never happens, the Battle of Britain keeps going on and perhaps the Jerrys take Moscow. Picking a fight with the USSR during the winter was a poor decision. England wasn't hurting the Krauts until the US (and some REAL Generals) got in the trenches.
Missy, why do you hate America? I know you love Americans![]()
