Godly post. This is one of the realest assessment of Pacman ive seen in a while.. especially that bolded part. lol

This is why Im not jumping up and down in anticipation for Floyd-Pac.. IT's a mismatch..

Marquez, even though age and the weight is against him, he knows how to deal with pac's simple style and he'll put up another good fight..

Gee. Pac should watch out for Luis Carlos Abregu then.

Time will tell. Manny is a great fighter i just dont think he a better boxer than pretty boy and that is what this sport is called.

Haven't you been watching Manny's last 6 fights?

The last time I've seen Floyd, he was so flat footed. That's why he got tagged good a couple of times by Mosley.

Are you referring to MArquez? cuz Morales didnt beat Pacquiao through counter-punching.. He beat him by taking the fight to Pac and getting off his shots first..

Either way floyd makes pac look like a pedestrian.

FLoyd fights accordingly and he was flatfooted because he knew Mosley was a one trick pony.. Mosley was no threat at all and floyd knew it so he fought the way he did..

Dont expect him to approach pacman like that.

You're partially right. Erik Morales won over Pacman not because of counter-punching, but because of an effective jab and defense while pacman still has no power on his right hand. Morales neutralized pacman's aggressiveness by landing stiff jabs while avoiding the big left hand of pac.

If you talk of counter-punching, nothing beats Marquez.

In part 2 & 3 of Morales trilogy, we can see how pacman developed his right hand. The results were 2 TKOs.

I agree, but not entirely. Floyd has the best defense, and pacman has the best offense. I dont think it will be an easy fight for Floyd, though. He may have the defense against his past opponents, but he never faced a fighter like pacman before. Can pacman hit floyd? Lets say that out 100 punches per round, pacman can land some 15-25 punches. Percentages will be funny because floys is almost unhitable, But those punches wont be like a punch from weak one, it will surely sting. And as the fight goes on, Floyd will feel it. Mosley and Oscar can attest to that. Cotto and Margarito can prove that too. Floyd may win rounds by making pacman miss while counter-punching his way thru, but one punch can change is game face.

Its not the question of how pacman can hit floyd, its how floyd can duck pacman's punch and on how he's gonna hold his defense against an onslaught of 4-5 combinations coming in the most awkward angles. Truly, Floyd's defensive wizardry will be put to its most strenuous test.

On the other side, pacman's offensive thrust can be put to equally daunting challenge. Will he be able to pin Floyd if he begins to run? Can pacman put precise punches/combinations over Floyd's defense?

It will not be a walk on the park for anyone of them. Thats the reason why people wants this fight to happen because no one can really tell who will win.

I expect Floyd to do what he always does... which is defense first before anything else.

And I also expect Manny to do what he always does... which is unorthodox relentless attack.

Both are excellent of what they do. They mastered those abilities. Best defensive fighter VS Best offensive fighter of our era. That's the MAIN reason why this fight is so intriguing.

    Manny throwing a 1000 punches a round!
Mannys left hand will sting and wear him down!
What do think floyd will be doing during this fight..just being defensive!
He won every rd with marquez easily and manny struggles with marquez!
There is no way a boxer looses to a fighter.. Thats why calzaghe would have beaten froch..better boxing skills.  (flamesuit)

    Maybe so.

If only Mayweather is thinking the way you do, then he would not have asked for that damn (currently not required) drug test.
It is not currently required the same way Manny's demands are not REQUIRED either, yet, Floyd did agree to every single demand Manny and his team asked from him. Floyd asks for one single demand he was also willing to go through and we heard all kinds of contradicting excuses from Manny, his team, and Arum.

Can Floyd lose? Of course. I think age takes its toll on every athlete, any sport. I can see Floyd losing to Manny as well as much as I see Manny losing to Floyd. Well said PSL.

Without starting another thread can Floyd really attract PPV fights without fighting a Mexican opponent normally on Mexican Day or PPV star with a huge following like Hatton. What if Floyd fought Clottey, would that be worthy of a PPV?

I root for Floyd but there are some things that confuse me a bit. He has put down some fights saying that the other guy can't sell but then again, why is he fighting Victor Ortiz? I mean, he's young and has shown in recent fights that he has the qualities to compete with the best out there but not sure if he's a great ticket/PPV seller.
