Well if I was in the Ring with either Klit, the world HW title scene would have had to really collapse but i'll do it. I'm 6 foot tall and a lean 215lbs. I do train 6 times a week and I like to think I am quite strong and fast.
To take on the Klitschko's though first of all I would need a time machine. I spent quite a lot of time around various clubs and gyms but I'd need to concentrate on JUST boxing from a quite early age. Assuming that I do reach the level in boxing that is required to become a decent pro and really be able to take on a Klitschko I would first of all choose Wlad, then look at having to develop a plan that would help me get on the inside.
But then a huge problem appears, what do I do when he grabs me and then leans on me with that massive size advantage? I think Haye's idea is about the best I've seen, just drop down. I know it wasn't good to watch but it's better than trying to hold him up and being drained of all my energy. Then once i'd decided that was my tactics once i was held I'd have to think of a way to land on that chin. Now looking at the old fights of Wlad being KO'd tells us basically nothing now other than he can be KO'd if landed on well. His discipline now is far too good to ever make the mistakes he used to make and THAT is what has made him so hard to beat. He knows people call him boring, is he bothered? Maybe, but not enough to risk his titles and who really can blame him??
I personally think Mike Tyson in his prime and Evander Holyfield in his prime would have been men (in recent times) with a similar size to me who would have beaten Wlad, but Tyson had great head movement, great speed and thunderous power and them 3 assets to me are what would get to Wlad. On the other hand Tyson had a tendency to unravel when things went wrong and if he didn't land clean on Wlad in the first 6, I'd start to favour Wlad. But the assets Tyson had were god given. Yes he worked damned hard to perfect them but they had to be there and not many people have them things in them. In fact I don't think people realise just how rare the natural talents of a world level boxer really are.
Evander on the other hand fought differently to Tyson, he was a real tough guy who could take punishment and come back fighting and he was also a very good counter puncher and once he was held by Wlad he would make it very uncomfortable for Wlad by digging his head in etc. Again though Evander is a man with almost freakish god given talents as well as a will to win like not many other men in any sport have ever had.
Anyway between them I think I could pick the skills from these 2 men and mould them into a style that I could use to beat Wlad. Yes I would just need Tysons power, speed and head movement along with Evanders heart, chin, will to win and counter punching ability and that's how I would be put on the path to glory![]()
