Default Calzaghe offered £1.5m to fight Woods

Well, well, well. It was a £500,000 side bet last year that couldn't tease Calzaghe into the fight, so perhaps upping the stakes might make it. If Woods beats Johnson, his rep will be boosted, and might make a worthy opponent for one of Calzage's final 3 opponents. Also gives Calzo the chance to further boost his legacy by becoming a two-weight champ.

All I hope is that this fight doesn't usurp a divsion unifier against the winner of Beyer-Kessler.

I'm sure FW will have no problems letting Joe fight on a Hobson promotion
    3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.

I'm not sure that this fight would be worth £1.5million. I would not watch it, for one.

I struggle to understand why someone as rich as Woods would take the fight?

Plus, just because he is a good golfer doesn't mean that he would be competitive against a pro like Calzaghe. Now, if it was Jack Osbourne, it would be a different thing entirely.

£1.5 isnt much less than Beyer gets fighting in Denmark against Kessler

Who knows, perhaps they decided that one, when FW took on responsibility to promote Woods v Johnson in Bolton. They must have had to have had a meeting when that was decided, and behind the scenes, the Woods/calzaghe fight was in the making then.
