Emmanuel Steward Lewis would be too much for Ali imo. Ali would struggle getting past that jab but he also has that right hand to worry about. He's never fought anyone who was big and fluid as Lennox..

Lewis would've been a punching bag for Ali in any era, it would take a three toed sloth about a month to walk one mile, marginally faster than Lennox Lewis in the boxing ring. Ali would be snapping his head back all night with that jab, so would Holmes. Like Ali's pre Rumble fight talk describing Big George "Here comes George with a left, here comes George with a right" Ali was saying this in slow motion. Lewis was easily hit, he was an easy target and would lose easily to Ali in any era of Ali's career except post Rumble. Ali should've been retired after the Thriller in Manila.
Yes Lewis was easily hit. Holmes would've pistoned-off his head in about 4 rounds with the jab alone. 3-toed sloth is a great comparison Third Man, beautiful point. Lewis too slow for sure.
No Lennox Lewis was more measured and wouldn't rush in wildly like George Foreman, but i think Lennox Lewis loses a decision. A prime Muhammad Ali is too slick and too fast with his foot and handspeed.

I agree with ICB on this one BIG. Lewis was never outboxed over 12 rounds but he never fought anyone as good as Ali either. Frank Bruno, Evander and Vitali all caused problems that make me think Ali would pick him apart over 12 or 15 rounds. Not saying any of them fight anything like Ali, just that if they can cause Lennox so many problems then Ali would figure out a method to pick Lewis apart.
Ali beats Lewis on points.
Lewis beats foreman on points.
a spontaneous creation with multiple moods.
Yes but no way can Ali be regarded a one punch KO man. Thats what it took to beat Lewis imo
I remember Whittaker registering a handful of sensational one punch KOs (no idea who opponents were) and he for many is the first name that comes to mind when talking of feather fisted champs.
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
I agree with this post ICB. I'd like to add another name to that list though and some may see it as controversial but I've seen this punch about 5 thousand times and you can clearly see the snot get knocked out of Listons face. I am of course talking about the "Phantom" punch.
I think Lennox was too smart to gas like that.
But both the young and old Ali would have made Lennox fight too fast and dominated him by decision.
The young Ali dances all night and the 1973-74 Ali moves enough to keep Lennox lumbering around.

ALI always found a way to defeat a opponent , if he did lose , Frazier,Norton he went back to the drawing board and worked it out , a truly amazing fighter and man , Ali took boxing to a new level with hand , foot and mouth speed , He would have to much speed for Lennox, not slagging Lewis of at all he was a superb boxer but Ali always found a way INCREDIBLE![]()
