I can call my family, email my distant friends and post random shit on here and all in all that is as far as my social networking goes. I actually talk to some people in the flesh too, though this is only rumoured.
I like all my brethren here, even the ones I want to sucker punch, and if anyone ever needs to talk to me, then here is easy enough. We have pm's and also threads and there are few real secrets between us all. I just don't see the purpose of Facebook, I struggle to see any merits in it. I was watching a Billy Connolly interview yesterday and he was talking about his reluctance to get a mobile phone and was bemoaning the lack of quiet life moments in modern life. Things like Facebook and smart phones only destroy those important moments. You need quiet moments, it seems everyone is telling everything online and doing it 24/7. I refuse to add to it. My posting here is 70% of my online discourse and that is quite enough for me.
One needs a certain mystery and Facebook erases all mystery.
Consider the following scenario.
You have two gorgeous 19 year old neighbours. You fancy these neighbours. You want to perv over pics of these neighbours and know what they are up to.
You want to do this secretly, like a true creep.
Hello Facebook, number one stalking essential for the new millenium. Match with google street and you have everything you need for a successful scoping/kidnapping mission.
hahaha
So now I know why we are friends on facebook....
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
