Even on the replay it looked like a glancing punch, most of the punch was blocked. I thought Barker won 4 rounds and was doing good early on, but he faded down the stretch late his stamina has been a question in the past.

He got buzzed by a hook a couple seconds before the right that put him down. I think he was just gassed and hurt, and he knew he was finished so he went down. No shame in that.

Agreed, unlike Barker, Andy Lee gets hit way too much, Lee would be cannon fodder for Martinez.

I thought it was a moderately interesting chess match. I thought Barke great early on, I had him winning definitely more than the one round that Harold gave him.

Martinez put on a great second half performance though and seemed to break his spirit.

The knock out was bizarre, not sure why he suddenly collapsed from the kind of punches he'd been taking all night. Disappointing end for him he looked like he was going to make it through the fight relatively unscathed.

Martinez looked good against a very smart, defensively minded fighter though and got the job done.

Hopefully a top challenger will step up and fight him soon. I think Geale would put on a gallant effort, and fights with Sturm, Chavez Jr and Lee would be entertaining.

He's not losing any of them though.

I thought it looked abit iffy too. The replay shows it didnt land too cleanly but he had taken alot of shots on that spot all night and was waiting for a shot to go down on. He had given up a couple rounds earlier trying to win.

Barker did suceed in making Sergio look poor for afew rounds but thats because his hands were so tight and he was boxing very cautiously. As soon as the guard started coming down Martinez took advantage. His hands at his waist standing in punching range still couldnt tempt Barker to let his hands go.

Duno what the commentary were thinking saying there was 1 point in the fight going into the 11th.
