Very disappointing show from him in my opinion.don't get me wrong very powerful but in the top three boxers in the world no danger.
You must have watched a Brit feed of the fight, Darren did better then most people thought he would, but in no way shape or form did he "outbox" Martinez.

As for Sergio being overrated, hardly, look at what he's accomplished in his last 4 fights, and tell me who besides Pacquiao and perhaps Donaire should be rated higher P4P?

Barker dominated rounds 4 and 5. Pretty much from when he popped Martinez nose he had almost 4 rounds of being on top and Martinez just couldn't hit him.

It's a real shame he tired in the 10th and wa hanging for the KO in the next round.

the only time the word "dominated" and the name Barker should be used in describing this fight is when saying Martinez dominated Barker even after having a bit of a puzzled moment in the early rounds, Martinez up to around the 4th or 5th round was just trying to land up top, he saw that didn't work then he started landing hard straight lefts to the pit of Barker's stomach, most the jabs that Barker would land after words had most the power taken out of them by Martinez slipping and taking them on his forehead, fact is the smaller shorter man struggled for 2 rounds out of 11, he was puzzled for about 3 rounds then systematically broke down his opponent rocking him a couple times along the way, everyone saying he's overrated is either blind or on some crack, cause I didn't see anything on Saturday that made me think that Martinez can't beat the likes of Cotto, Margarito, Mayweather, or Pacquiao

seeing how the only thing that gave him problems was Barker's height, range, and good defense, neither of the guys mentioned above have all 3 of those qualities

19-3 amatuer record. And while I never had a busted ear drum, I know what I saw. I saw a fighter pretty much say "fuck it. I had enough" and call it quits after a slapped that was half blocked. I actually thought Eddie Cotton was gonna give him a pillow the way he rolled over on his back and covered his face with his gloves. He could of got up even if he did have a busted ear drum. Carl Froch claims he had a busted ear drum going into the Jean Pascal fight. Shannon Briggs busted his ear drum in the first round and still took his beaing like a man from Vitali. Jorge Barrios let everybody know he had busted his ear drum in the 6th against Acelino Freitas and still went to war with him. So don't tell me Barker clouldn't of got up from that glancing slap if he really wanted too

Are you giving Froch his due as a warrior? This may be the first time I have ever seen VD give a British fighter credit.

I said he claimed he had one. Do I believe him? No. But for the sake of the point I was trying to, make, we gonna pretend he really did have one

Didn't see the fight and have heard a lot of conflicting opinions. Mostly brits saying how well Barker did and then Non brits saying how he seemed to be there just to survive. Got to congratulate him for stepping up against the best in the division rather than going for a vacant title and defending it at home.

You must have me confused with someone else. Violent D is a massive fan of UK fighters.
