Question: are we talking about the Pedro Diaz who's also working with GYMboxing from Montreal and the guy who used to train the majestic cuban boxing team? I am very surprised he did split from Mannie (same as for Dawson, 2 top boxers in a short period of time, it's curious) but Diaz is not like a kind of last comer in the business, the guy's a top gun, we just didn't hear much about him because he used to be behind the cuban legion when they were more or less at their peak. I don't think that Diaz is a very bad replacement, TBH (assuming it is the same Diaz as the one I have in mind), perhaps not a very good idea but at least, the guy replacing Manny ain't a new comer like when he did hire his nutritionist.

A little suprised he would make a switch this close to such a big fight. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite him in the ass.

Manny is probably charging too much. Cotto needs to box and throw more body shots and should win a decision. Please.

Not sure if this is a good move for Cotto but i've always felt Steward was slightly overrated.

Cotto didn't exactly look great in either of the fights Steward trained him for.

Hopefully his new trainer can let Cotto know he is the man in charge and will make a good gameplan for Cotto.

This is a decision that some people will look back to after the Cotto-Margarito fight. It will either be praised or criticized depending on the outcome of that fight. It will be 20/20 hindsight at it's best again.
