    Not that I understand you exactly, but I think my answer is "No, I don't think Bernard Hopkins hurts boxing, even if I do recognize some wiley old veteran tricks that cause even his fans to shake their heads at him once in a while."

    He's tricky and a little dirty ... no one disputes that. But not all that dirty. More wiley than dirty. He's good for boxing. GOOD.

    Are you seriously comparing Hopkin's tricks to Dawson's body slam/tackle? Really?

    Nah, I didn't think so. You were just ranting a little, letting off a little steam because you're kind of a Hopkins hater, right? But underneath you really know that what Dawson did is outside even the pale of dirty tricks, right?

    Yeah, I thought you were more reasonable and fact-based than you sounded for the odd moment there. It's ok. Everyone has their moments.

    Boxing is a "niche" sport, most fans that watch it regularly are pretty much hardcore, casual boxing fans come and go. Point is, boxing ebbs and flows, but it's here to stay.
