Hes 21 and still learning his trade though. He fought a solid n'dou who has never been stopped and been in with some great fighters, but won convincingly.
Hatton might have gone the distance and done better than most thought he would. Everyone thought he would get knocked out easily, but he put up a battle. Did Hatton win ? No he lost and even if he did better than most thought he would he still lost and Alvarez got some rounds under his belt against a fighter who wouldn't easily go down which is good for a young fighters progression IMO.
As for Rhodes he was so negative and looked like he wanted to just make it to the bell. As soon as he actually opened up and tried to hurt Alvarez look what happened it gave Alvarez openings and he hurt Rhodes and the fight got stopped. Again for Alvarez another solid 12 rounds experience under his belt which is good for a 21 year old.
Alvarez was slower in the Gomez fight as he was looking to get his shots off and as soon as he picked up the pace Gomez was out of his league. Although it was a bit of a premature stoppage, I doubt Gomez would have lasted much longer.
For a fighter of 21 I don't see how these performances are bad? He's shown he is solid and still has a lot to learn. Cintron is a test and as I said before if the real Cintron turns up and Alvarez beats him it's a full credit to the development of his career. I hope he keeps up these wins, because I believe he has the potential to be the best at 154, 2 or 3 years down the line.
