How come you guys don't get behind this guy? I can understand why you all love the Russian (Kostya) but i've seen big support for Mundine and Green too.

Katsidis is a crowd friendly fighter willing to face anyone. He comes across good in interviews (this side of the world). His brother was a top Aussie jockey. Why is he not liked?

I like him, he is ok. Nothing to jump and down about though. Like you say, he brings it and what more do you want?

Mundine is more disliked out here than you would know. He has a way of hissing down the camera at you, makes everyone want to see him have little nap on the canvas again.

Green was only taken seriously for longer by the West cause he is from there, everyone else I know wished him luck, but he is a real middle of the road tactician talking top of the crop. Mundine is top of the crop talking to much bullshit but is an above middle of the road tactician so as a boxer I think he gets more respect from real fans out here as opposed to local ones.

Its a big place out here, many sit at home boxing fans, dont know who the hell anyone is from 3000 or more miles away until they hear and see them advertized on Foxtell about 2 months before a main event.

I like him, he always gives his best and despite a lack of the many skills required to become an A lister, he will give anyone a tough fight. A most dangerous fighter for anybody to get past.

That was before the Marquez fight that his brother died as well. I thought it was a bit odd that he yelled that at Guerrero, but I guess whatever gets him amped up.. I watched that at a bar and really wanted to see him get KO'ed for being a douche at the time.

I like him and I try to support him whenever I can, but it ain't easy. His last fight was a home town fight and I only found out about it 2 days before the event. It also wasn't being shown on PPV or anything, so the only way to see it was to get tickets. Maybe he needs to get a different promoter, because the only way I found out about it was through boxing forums. There weren't even any posters in his/my home town!!

The media also largely ignore him because the state of boxing in Australia doesn't look very good at the moment imo. Mundine is only popular because he was a known rugby player before he became a boxer and he always says stupid shit, so he's always good for a story.

We also never hear about Vic Darchinyan, someone who I think deserves some credit.
