I just don't understand how Wlad can justify fighting a guy who put in such a poor peformance against him last time and made it such a boring fight. He should never get a title shot again because of that. Mormeck is getting stopped in the mid rounds no doubt and so would Thompson. Wlad seriously needs to up the competition level because I can't be fucked watching him fight bums for the next 5 years.

I do agree out of the heavyweights Tarver and Arreloa would be better than Mormeck and Thompson. Even Tarver and Arreloa would struggle though IMO. They are too small to make any impact on Wlad. Arreloa maybe could land a big right but I highly doubt that would happen.

I honestly can't see any heavyweight for the next 2-3 years coming even close to Wlad. Haye had the opportunity and ability to but he completely bitched out which was a shame and it really lowered my opinion of him.

I think the only heavyweights in the future who could potentially have a good go at a faded Wlad would be; Helenius, Dimitreko and Fury. Albeit that they can on improving as fighters and get some good wins and experience under their belt. They all have potential IMO to be champions. The main reason why I have picked these three fighters is mainly their size. I just don't see how a smaller fighter is going to beat Wlad these days. Wlad has improved a lot since his early career knockouts and I don't see that happening again any time soon.

I think for Helenius, Fury and Dimintreko it's all about timing. If they have this currently Wlad they have no chance. Wlads superior boxing ability is miles above all of their abilities. But he can't stay like the way he is forever and when he does start to fade IMO it's got to be one of these three to beat him. And Povetkin will never be risked against Wlad or Vitali IMO. He's not big enough for them either and would get stopped IMO.

I might be being a little optimistic but I feel there is some potential talent coming up:
    Fury
    Helenius
    Pulev
    Mitchell
    Perez
    Mansour
    Etc etc

I wouldn't mind seeing Solis in with either Klitschko again though

well Povetkin doesn't want to face him, Chisora lost to Fury, Fury is still happy facing domestic level fighters, so there's not really anyone left

Fury is young and building himself into a good fighter. He's still got a lot to learn and looks better each time he gets in the ring. Why risk getting beaten now by Wlad which is inevitable at this stage of his career! Give him time, he's picking it up in terms of advancing his career. He's only 23 and that's young for a heavyweight nowadays. Imagine him in 2-3 years time hes going to be a great heavyweight.

he hasn't beaten anyone to give the indication that he's going to be a GREAT HW, a somewhat decent one yes, but you can't make such claims until he actually steps it up

Povetkin-Stiverne would be a hell of a match up for a title shot.

I don't think Wlad will have issues with any of the fighters mentioned though...the guy is just on another level.

I think in terms of the crock of shit heavyweights that are around these days he has potential to be seen as a great amongst the fellow heavyweights that fight nowadays. Don't get me wrong he's no Ali or Tyson etc, but I do think in the near future he has the potential to be the best.

However that does show the lack of ability that the heavyweight devision has. I don't see how it's going to get better in the future either. It's a boring weightclass nowadays. Fury brings some character to it and I wish him the best in developing his career. I would love to see him as a world champion one day and I think within 2-3 years he could well be.

I do agree that he needs to step up the competition till we can properly judge him , but so far so good IMO. As I said before he is still young for a heavyweight and I think by 2012 we will see him in with some good fighters.

All I know is that 'The Boz' was the guy Vitali trained to fight before Johnson got injured and pulled out of the Lewis fight. Also 'The Boz' got stopped by Jameel McCline in 2003.

Looking at his record his best wins are: a TKO 2 vs Cliff Couser, TKO 2 vs Roman Greenberg, and a UD vs Oliver McCall. He's 6'3, has a good reach at 81", and his weight fluctuates anywhere from 245 (in '07) to 223 (in '09) to 231 (his last fight). 35 wins and 26 KO's is decent but its not vs a high pedigree of fighter.

Yea, he'll come to win against Povetkin and I believe he can do it, but it's more gut than logic.
