How did he not beat Mosley to a pulp? He did everything BUT knock him out..Marquez, he seemed to be going for the knockout later on but wanted the rounds in it seemed after so long off. I liked that he didn't knock him out because 1) I love Marquez, my favourite Mexican fighter so didn't want to see that and 2) Wanted to see if Floyd had any rust.

Even my friend who dislikes Floyd text me at the end of every round going "Wtf? How is he doing this to Marquez? He's something else" - Ortiz was also on his way to being knocked out.

I didn't think he was safety first against Mosley or Ortiz..but it's a fair statement if people find his style boring. Doesn't make anyone a hater.

P.S. Let's not get into Floyd vs Manny. My opinion as to why that fight hasn't happened yet is the polar opposite to yours but take that topic into one of the million other old threads or heck, does that Floyd vs Manny forum still exist? lol

Agreed on the last part of your post. I just wish one of these guys would do to the other what Tarver did to Jones Jr. Tarver made sure he was at all of Roys fights, conferences, and everything which is what drew Roy into the ring. But like I said before, In my opinion, Floyds style is pretty boring, not to say he's not one of the best defensive fighters we've seen. But the title of the post is "why is floyd boring to some" (im paraphrasing). If you're going to draw a comparison solely on entertainment value during a fight, Manny wins that matchup. Who knows if we'll see Floyd in the ring again. I'm sure he'll retire with his unblemished record and a ko percentage above 60% which is decent in my opinion. But history is going to end up blaming him if that fight doesn't come off. Not necessarily because its his fault (who knows what's going on behind the scenes) but because he's a prick in front of the camera while Manny is on his way to quite possibly being the savior of a nation.

I've never thought of floyd as boring, but I know a lot of people who do. I guess you just need to have an appreciation for how technical his game is. Just watching some of his training videos is insane, gives you a lot of respect for the guy (even though hes an egotistical maniac).

First of all, I don't like Floyd but He is a master boxer. He doe his homework and most importantly he goes out of his way to be in shape. Like him or hate him he plies his trade and he is always one up psychologically on his opposition and you can't say that he doesn't like boxing because in the end his hand is always the one I have seen raised by the referee. Boring maybe because his opposition doesn't have what it takes to beat him but Floyd is no fool in the ring, just outside.
