Of course the religious people comes first. But aside from them, I'll pick F. D. Roosevelt. He not only saved the U.S. from depression, but more importantly, he saved the world from Axis domination. I wouldn't want to be saluting 'Hail Hitler, Jr.' everytime I pass around the brat.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

Sir Winston Churchill won the war.

I'll answer this question in the same way that I'd answer the question about the perfect dinner party.

Me, Lenin and Ronnie O'Sullivan. In that order.

Yup, he did an impossible job of rallying your country amidst impossible German blitz, where others simply just folded up and succumbed to awesome German power. Bullet for bullet, bomb for bomb, and technology for technology, Churchill answered Hitler without flinching. Amazing fella indeed.

Stalin had a lot more to do with winning WWII than FDR or Churchill. And Pearl Harbor had more to do with ending the depression than any of FDR's atrocious keynsian programs and trampling of the constitution.

You're right, but then, don't forget, even without Russia, Americans could have finished the job in a day or two.

Haven't been in this thread for a while. Who is everyone settling on?

Jesus is probably going to nab it. Although I've seen David Blane do some fucked up shit which should also see him in contention.

The Russians sacrificed so much in that war. They were fully invaded which neither America nor Britain had been and heroically fought the Nazi's back. A touch of winter also helped play its part too.

The rulers of the nations did not win the wars anyway, it was the blood and heart of the combatants and those in control of military strategy. Presidents and Prime Ministers know diddly squat about war, but for me the winners of the war were the great unsung masses and they were from both East and West. It's a shame that the Russians returned back to tyranny and that Britain was finished and that America was only decades away from its own eventual tyranny.

Still, at least the Nazi's were gone.

I think we have settled on how great America is.

Actually I think the weather slowed down then killed off the German army when they went to Russia, You could say Abraham made Hitler decide to go at the most stupid time.
