That eye took a pounding, so I wonder if it is really up to scratch.

As for Mars Ax, if you really have no issues with an 8-4 Manny scorecard, then you really have no respect for the sport yourself. It is the kind of card that everybody should be angry about. It isn't just that Marquez lost, but that he was seemingly adrift even going into the championship rounds. It wasn't 'by all accounts' a close fight but if it makes you feel better to think so then fair enough. Polls do suggest otherwise though.

But not to derail the thread I encourage others to concentrate on Cotto/Margarito 2. That was me taking slight umbrage with what I felt to be some unfair comments.
Miles, I've already said in other threads, that a 116-112 scorecard for Pacquiao seems ridiculous, whereas 115-113 and a draw (114-114) on the other 2 cards didn't seem all that outrageous. I have however, yet to see where some big "injustice" was done and/or some "robbery" occurred, so why should I be "angry"? Do I think that Pacquiao really "won" the fight? Probably not... Do I really give a flying fuck that Marquez "lost" the fight? Nope, not at all, you may not like my answer, but i'm just being honest.

Mars - there is no reason to get wound up over Miles. Humor me and allow me to give my deconstruction of Miles. Understand that Miles likes nothing more than a good controversy. The man thrives on it especially when the favorite gets the nod. Examples of Miles upset at scoring in fights are a plenty and too numerous to count. For example, he was angry about Marlon White and the Andrade/Bute ending. More recently, he was angry about Macklin and Sturm. What I can't recall is Miles scoring a close fight with the favorite. Similiarly, I recall he frequently berated Floyd for retiring rather than face Cotto or Margarito and facing Hatton when Cotto and Margarito were out there. He also has been outspoken against Manny for balking at the drug tests. Consequently, to be fair to Miles, he is consistent in that he is outspoken against what he perceives to be injustice in boxing regardless of the boxer (e.g. he is neither Flomo nor Pactard). In addition, like I believe myself to be most of the time, he is a constant supporter of the underdog. On another note, when it comes to boxing (b/c outside of boxing he has been known to spew the occasional anti-semitic slur) something I like about his views is that he doesn't seem to hold much ethnic bias like VD (Mexican fighters) or Erics44 (British fighters) or Brockton (Italian fighers). At the end of the day, Es Lo Que Hay.

Trust me Rant-cat, I already know what an argumentative "cunt" miles is, so he's not winding me up in the least.
Guys like miles, however cuntlike they are, make the forum a fun place to come to, plus miles' bitching is always done respectfully...

I am who I am so you can go fuck yourself if you disagree. My fighters are all at the end and that is why it is always the underdog. It isn't really about supporting the underdog, though I thought that post was pretty well thought through. Good read.

Fair play. I wasn't trying to be a prick.

No, I enjoyed your summary, it was very entertaining. I see the pattern, but I disagree with the conclusion.

At any rate, I've got quite a few casual fan/friends into this one and should be able to hold a pretty good turn out at mi casa. The undercards aren't the best matchups available, but worth tuning in early for.

    How will you be watching?

If DIRECTV charges about $50, i'll buy the PPV and watch it at home, if not i'll be hunting a stream.

BTW, I believe the undercard, while not great, is pretty solid:

At New York (HBO PPV): Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito, rematch, 12 rounds, for Cotto's WBA junior middleweight title; Brandon Rios vs. John Murray, 12 rounds, for Rios' WBA "regular" lightweight title; Pawel Wolak vs. Delvin Rodriguez, rematch, 10 rounds, junior middleweights; Mike Jones vs. Sebastian Lujan, 12 rounds, IBF welterweight eliminator.
Killer no offense but I COMPLETELY disagree about the undercard. Mars has it right. Wolak v. Rodriguez II will be nothing if not a war. Rios is always fun to watch. Jones v. Lujun should be fun too because Lujan has the potential to make Jones scrap.
Not really sure you're disagreeing. They're not the best match-ups available, but worth tuning in for. Rodriguez has Wolak figured out, still entertaining, but more one-sided that the first.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Drunk. .... or drugged, if alcohol won't do the trick.

Can't take another loss, Terrible. Got me nervous with that trainer switch a while back. He'd better not lose, otherwise I'm liable to get in the ring and kick Margacheato's ass myself.

    Well.... maybe not.
