I cannot wait for the 2nd season to start. I just started rewatching the 1st season again, so I'm good and ready for it.

Books 4 and 5 tried their best to kill my enthusiasm for the show, but that trailer looks fucking awesome. Season 1 is probably my favourite tv series ever.

I'm not bothering with the books. Just watch it on the telly. Less likely to annoy me and I really don't need any more backstory. It's just a great show, don't want to get all anal and geek out over it.

While Martin's writing is so-so and full of strange idiosyncrasies, his storylines in the first three books were outstanding. The series has jumped the shark and is just being dragged out now though.

I have not read the books, and I will not read the books. I like knowing nothing, so that I'm surprised as it all unfolds.

I haven't read through this thread in awhile, so to those of you who are reading the books, have you been posting spoilers? I don't want to go and read through it, and have something get spoiled.
