Of course they are all trying to force the glass to spell there own names, then a big flash of Lightning and a crash of Thunder happens, and the lights flicker and the glass starts to move on its own...

Then Paul 'accidentally' pushes the glass on to the floor, and says to the other two, "this was a stupid idea, lets not bother (to reform)", and the other two agree.
