Rios's weight made it a more of a mismatch in the end. Murray's face was so mashed i thought maybe Rios had dipped his wraps. I think if Rios moves up he gets found out big style. Murray is too stubborn and brave for his own good but will come again when he is not forced to fight a welterweight. Rios is such a schmuck, very dirty with lots of forearms and elbows and will get sparked by anyone with decent power up at 140 or 147.

I agree completely. It was a flat showing by Rios in my opinion. He looked so much better against Antillon.

These guys must be huge for their weight, must starve themselves to make weight and then after the weigh in eat up and beat the little opponent afterwards. I thought Rios looked great.

I have never seen Rios before this fight. He is an exciting fighter but would lose to top opponents in the devisions. Easy win for Marquez and gurrearo (apologies for the spelling). If he moves up I see Bradley, Khan, Alexander and Maidana beating him. He is just like Murray. Hard fighter but loves to get punched in the face.

Guerrero, Marquez, Khan, hell even Bradley all beat Rios with relative ease

The thing is he did not mark up like Chevaz and Duran great skin. Also he threw more punches, was more accurate and better skilled than Murray. Rios could live at light welter with the best.

But if you get him against a slickster or counter puncher he will be picked apart. Maybe I have not seen the real Brandon Rios in this fight. I will have to watch some of his other fights before I can fully dissagree with you master.
One thing for sure is that a fight between Rios and Maidana would be fu*king amasing. You would have to make predictions for fight of the year with that one. Still have Maidana winning with what I have seen so far.

Too bad Arum won't let a Maidana fight happen. Agreed that is the absolute most exciting fight you could make with either of those guys. Rios-Alvarado ain't bad but it's not a headliner like Maidana would be.

Agreed that Rios loses to Khan, Bradley, Guerrero and JMM. But he would still put all those guys through hell. He's Margarito in a different body (right down to the ignorant dumb ass-ness), though I think slightly better technically.

all the guys I mentioned will outbox him, Rios gets hit too often and other than leaning in and landing short uppercuts he doesn't really bring anything out of this world in technical ability, he's going to be giving up one of his biggest advantages at 135 which is his size, the bigger boys won't be bullied around by him and most will hit a lot harder than guys 15 to 20 lbs lighter than him
