Also I know it was a long time ago but did those purses seem low to you for such a big fight ? Or was that good for the time for a SW matchup ??

    700k Benn, 250k Gman
I think Benns purse sounds about right. I remember him wanting 1m for the Second Eubank fight and that was considered a bit OTT at the time. I think it said Mcclellan earned more in this fight than he ever had, 250k is a bit low but its all relitive to what you normally earn I guess.

Was it just me who saw McClellan doing the blinking thing in the build up to the fight just hitting the pads?

Theres an extended version on next tuesday at 9pm.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

I noticed him doing that blinking thing in the training footage.

Those purses are widely reported. McCellan's "big" fights were all undercard support jobs (Chavez, Trinidad, Lewis). Benn was his first headline job. And obviously he was playing second fiddle in that seeing as Benn was the champ in his hometown.

Was quite suprised to hear what Nigel Benn got up too, but i shouldn't be suprised considering the company he used to keep. Gerald McClellan had a very nasty streak about him, i remember my family who watched the fight at the time, saying he wanted to kill Nigel Benn in the ring and it was true aswell.

Yes indeed - it's on ITV4 on 13th - awesome awesome fight but so sad - I remember all the coverage the following week as parliament discussed a proposal for the total abolishment of boxing....Safety measures have improved so much.

The thing with McClellan and the dog fighting made me feel sick I have little sympathy for anyone who is involved with dog fighting or any form of animal abuse.
