Cards seem right to me. I don't think I gave Margarito a single round, but there were one or two close ones towards the end of the fight.

I didn't give margarito any rounds but there was a close round somewhere in the fight that could have been given to margarito as a comparative round by the judges.
He Who Is Brave Is Free
Wisdom, compassion and courage are the three universally recognised moral qualities of men.
Marg won 2 rounds 4 and 5, close 6th.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I watched the fight on a surprisingly good stream, but it was still hard for me to score some of the rounds. All the judges for this fight had it: Cotto 8-1 in rounds, when I watch the replay Saturday in HD on my big screen, i'll try to score it and see if I agree. It seems like most people only had Margarito winning a round or 2 before the stoppage.
From what I could tell, even though Margarito was losing most of the rounds, he was making the fight competitive by being the aggressor and/or continuing to come forward. It didn't seem however, like Margo's punches were all that effective, and Cotto was able to avoid most of his power punches. I also thought Margo's punches looked much weaker then they usually do, even more so in the later rounds.

the most telling thing to me was Cotto did stand and trade a little bit with Margo during the last couple of rounds. He did it, but then went back to boxing. It wasn't him stopping to throw flurries, he actually stood there and willingly traded a few times.
Makes me think Cotto was comfortable enough in his belief that Margarito wasn't the same puncher.
I thought Miguel looked the best I can ever remember seeing him, he was in tip top shape and boxing beautiful. He also looked relaxed and comfortable while dishing out a nice beating, it was like he was really enjoying himself in there. I had to laugh when Cotto intentionally headbutted Margarito a couple times right on his bad eye, and I don't even think Smoger warned him about it.![]()
I believe Margo's latest fight with Cotto, as well as the one's with Mosley and Pacquiao are proof that he was using loaded wraps prior to that, he's a different dog without plaster.
I plan to tape this fight next week when HBO shows the replay before the Khan vs Peterson main event, it's one to keep and remember.
