My guess would be... that it's because when Miles lived in the UK, he had trouble attracting UK woman, who generally don't like Weedy, Whiny, little weirdos and therefore he has developed an irrational hate for them. He has done what all the saddos (excuse the pun) that I know that couldn't get a woman do and went to the Far East to find a companion.
