Agreed man..... No way that happened. He would have been zapped after warming up in his dressing room.

Rios wouldn't have been in the ring but in the hospital instead if he didn't eat for 5 days.

Absolute bullshit. He'd have been no condition to fight.

I dont understand all this hate for rios. It's not like murray had a chance anyway. He was brought in to get knocked out and he played his role well. Outcome was pre determined.

murray is a domestic level fighter.

You challenge someone at a weight, minimum requirement...make the weight.
You gonna talk shit and badmouth everyone, including such lows as mocking someone's disability....don't be surprised when your not flavour of the month
Despite being massively bigger than the so called domestic level fighter you face in the ring you can not knock him unconscious... you are not the second coming of Roberto Duran
The outcome was not pre-determined Rios could not win the belt, was that part of the plan?

Murray was brought in as a stepping stone plain and simple. He didnt have to fight an overweight rios, but he took the extra 20k, fought, and took his ass whooping. End of story.

Rios better not make this a habit though.

A Decent European champ I think, he looked awful against Karim El Ouazghari, and I'm honestly not sure if he's even the 3rd best in the UK (Burns and Mitchell are ahead of him, Rees, Crolla and Matthews would each give him a decent fight). Strange how strong the division is in Britain so I'm not sure saying "domestic" is actually that degrading here...

I'd actually say that Murray wasn't brought in as a stepping stone at all. Murray was brought in as a replacement for Kevin Mitchell who couldn't travel to the US due to having a criminal record. Looking at the compubox stats (not that they are super accurate) i'd say Murray, as a replacement for a better fighter, proved more than a stepping stone and gave alot back. I actually like Rios though, tough motherfucker with way better boxing skills and footwork than your average brawler for sure. All i'd say is when he steps up and fights someone his own "fight night" size, that normally unmarked face of his won't be so unmarked. I'd love to see him in with Timothy Bradley.

As an extra note. Its all IFs, but, If Murrays face didn't mark so easily and he had more punch power, the fight with Rios would have been an EPIC WAR!!!

Finally seeing this fight right now on HBO Latino. Rios looks over fed and over produced. I cannot in anyway see this guy staying around long at all. His best approach here is rolling shots under and up but has a knack for catching even pieces of punches, if not the whole thing waaay too easily. Once on his heels I think he see's dead people.

Kevin Mitchell has a criminal record

    But he's from Dagenham.
