Some more different era matchups

Jake Lamotta vs Bernard Hopkins, Marvin hagler, and Bhop vs Marvin, Roy vs Marvin....

Hopkins would handle Lamotta's assault and then counter punch him and batter him around the ring, swelling him up to win a lopsided UD

Marvin would rough him up and force him to fight back, Hopkins would get out of his comfort zone and although I think he would go the distance he probably would get a bit beat up along the way losing a Decision

If Jones' chin couldn't handle Tarver's iffy power IMO a Prime Hagler would wreck him if he caught him

i was applauding you, until i got to the jones part, i disagree, jones had a good chin, he just got old, there was a moment in the james toney fight where jones got caught with a decent, hard hook and shook it off, ill actually give that fight to jones by ud

IMO Marvin was a more devastating puncher than Toney (and yes I mean Toney at 160 and 16, plus in his prime he wouldn't let up, I'm not saying that Jones wouldn't be able to go the distance or even win, I just think that Hagler's power mixed with his aggression and relentless will would have eventually caught up to Jones and would have stopped him, but on the same note Jones packed plenty of punch at 160 and his speed was crazy, so what I was getting at is that Hagler would win by TKO and if Jones was to pull out a win it would likely be by decision

Jake was overrated he had a good chin but not a hard puncher and was lucky to win the title, he would be outboxed by Hagler and Jones.

Marvin probably would have beaten the green Roy Jones but lost at super middle.

Hagler would beat all of them at Middleweight in his prime he was absolutely awesome.

The thing is Hagler did struglle with ray, and jones was as fast if no faster, much bigger and packed a helluva punch, i don see marvin doing anything, i know marvin wasnt at his peak yet but still.

peak yet? Marvin had already passed his peak when he fought Leonard, and it was more a case of Hagler not stepping on the gas early enough rather than him really struggling with Ray's speed or movement, cause once he began to cut off the ring he was able to pressure Leonard effectively, also Ray was a better technician than Jones, and IMO had better foot movement, so you can't really compare those two or use that fight as reference, if anything use the Hearns opening round minus Tommy's chin, Tommy being a big tall rangy fighter was able to thwart Hagler and baffle him a bit fighting him from a distance potshotting him, but as he did there IMO he will still grind down his opponent and hit him where ever he can, body and head, if Jones would be able to keep his distance and counter effectively well then he could very well win a decision, but if he tried to go toe to toe with Hagler IMO it would be his downfall

Sorry thats what i meant, he was passed his peak, but i dont think jones would tradde with him, i go back to the toney fight, jones fought a disciplined fight, and i think he would do the same against hagler, and very few fighters had better foot movement then jones in his prime, i think we mystify past greats with this unbeatable aura and its just not so, jones i think was too much for anyfighter at 160-168
