I thought the point deductions were terrible. Without them Khan won the fight imo, and the first knockdown was not being valled was dubious as well.

Nonetheless the judges have to factor in referee's decisions and taking the deductions into account I though the scores were perfectly fair.

Khan had a weird night. He really impressed me with his ability to take shots, his chin looks fine now, but boxing wise I was really disappointed that he let Peterson bully him around the ring.

I do think the referee played the deciding factor, not just the two points, but never breaking them up either. Khan's pushes looked like self dfence to me, trying to get Peterson off of him, I've never seen anybody have points deducted for that before.

Also, it's noticable that on here all those who hate Khan totally felt the point deductions were justified, whereas all the Hopkins haters felt Hopkins milked it when Dawson literally picked him up and threw him to the floor.

If it goes to a rematch I think Khan will beat him, but knowing the popular appeal of Khan he may not even chase a rematch.

It's just as likely that he will fight somebody like Marquez next, win that and fight Floyd anyway. The manner of the defeat means he hasn't lost anything, he's still the biggest non Pacquiao money earner for Floyd and certainly for Marquez.

I expect some good matchmaking now, a big win over a huge name and then right back in the elite leagues again.

A wrod on Peterson though, he fought a great fight, showing that Khan can be outboxed and that he isn't ready for the likes of Floyd Mayweather.

I like Peterson, the point deductions shouldnt overshadow what was a career best, all heart effort from Lamont.
