He spent half his career using his face to block punches!! and still survived to win loads of fights, ie kosta tyszu, collazo etc, even against floyd he took alot of punishment to last till last few rounds, i agree he was very 'face first' defence tho..... Thats probley he ended up shot all of a sudden!!

Miles, i think you are forgetting that Hatton has looked terrible when he's faced anybody with hand speed who can throw combinations. He simply has never had any answer for it.

I honestly think it would be quite one-sided.

The Hatton we saw against Pacquiao was the same Hatton we saw against everyone else he fought at world class level. He just looks that bad against speed and volume (not to mention southpaws). He had poor defence and a very average chin. He also had no survival instincts whatsoever, so he had no way of reacting to a clean punch.

I find your hatred for Khan quite worrying to be honest. I think you should see someone.
Easy, he was hurt by Rios, Magee, Phillips, Collazo, Pacquiao, Mayweather and Lazcano.

Quite a few fairly average punchers in there. He's hardly Steve Collins.
You could argue that it can't have been bad because he hung in there and got the win, but the majority of those opponents just weren't good enough or were too past their prime to capitalise on hurting him. I think in his book he mentions something about Phillips hurting him really badly, but Phillips didn't realise at the time and he managed to recover.

I'm not saying his chin was bad or anything, but i think the fact that he stood up to Kostya Tszyu made everyone think Hatton was this fearless pressure fighter with a granite chin.

Getting back to the original point, i just don't see Hatton avoiding many of Khan's flurries. He just doesn't react to fast combinations well at all. I can see the argument for Hatton's pressure being a problem for Khan, but i'd imagine Khan's handspeed would be a much, much bigger problem for Hatton.

I think Hattons foot speed is under rated. I knew this pro fighter who had sparred with hatton and he said that Hatton can close the distance really fast, so fast that its unexpected and he he hits quite hard too.

In a fight with Khan I think Hatton takes him, stops him late on. Khan would have fast and flashy early rounds then Hatton's pressure gets to him. Khan is clueless on the inside so Hatton would have him on the ropes up close landing left hooks.
