Vernon Forrest is one of these fighters with a puzzling record. On the one hand, he had two great victories over the great Shane Mosley, almost KO'ing him in their first fight. On the other hand, he gets steamrollered by Ricardo Mayorga's bombs. Not that Mayorga wasn't a formidable force at that weight (147, was it?), but still.... what to make of the inconsistency?

I myself like the matchup. I remember Quartey coming up as being a potential great champion. Matter of fact, I consider ODH's victory over Quartey as one of Oscar's more impressive wins. It wasn't against a shot fighter, or one that had been previously decimated by Tito.

As to who I think would win.... probably Forrest. I think Vernon has the boxing skills and the power. And I think he must've learned a thing or two about getting out of the way of bombs. So probably Forrest by late TKO or decision.
