I do think Collins might of been abit too strong for him had the fight gone ahead, Calzaghe was very wild back then and may of burned himself out - with Collins rallying late stop him.Originally Posted by geo

Thing with Benn is he mite get that one punch and had a HUGE heart.
Eubank would loose a decision at SM imo.
Same for collins, although would give him the best fight.
Henry Wharton would of given Joe a tough fight.
Gerald McClellan would of taken Joe out.
Well based on the fact Joe has never been stopped and the fact that McClellan most definitely couldn't out box Joe I would disagree.Originally Posted by WWatt

gerald could punch he would wobble joe few times maybe even knock him down but calzaghes superior boxing skills would see him through
IMO, at 168lbs Benn lacked one punch KO power that he had at 160lbs.Originally Posted by cockey cockney

As for McClellan, well what happened to him was sad, but truth was, any decent boxer who got though 5 rounds unharmed with him, beat him... Calzaghe beats him between rounds 8 and 10 IMO.![]()
That's ludicrous, Joe is very square-on and easy to hit with jabs and lead rights. Gerald would box circles around him.Originally Posted by BIG H

Benn would probably get beaten. Unless he found a way to bully through and catch Calzaghe.
Eubank would make Calzaghe look stupid. A PRIME EUBANK!!!!
Seriously the Calzaghe that beat Lacy has always been the Calzaghe he is now. The style if Lacy is just one that allowed Calzaghe to execute everything, give it a rest people![]()
How can you say that? Nigel would of disposed of every single fighter Joe has ever fought with ease, with the possible exception of a one-legged Eubank who he'd of out-pointed hugely.Originally Posted by BK
Nigel was even more naturally talented than Joe, he could do it all without even being taught- bob, weave, every shot from every angle, and his leverages were suberb.
That's ridiculous theory, there's no signs of him lacking stamina (largely because he rarely had to go more than 90 seconds). Manny Steward describes McClellan as the best he's ever had.Originally Posted by BK
The guy beat Roy Jones fair and square in '88, and anybody who fought him said that his hands felt ridiculously heavy, Benn said Eubank's shots felt like pea-shooter blows by comparison!
McClellan circled opponents and picked them off well, and he had amazing timing, and one of the best three body-punchers ever. Most would of picked him to beat Jones again if he got through Benn, then clear out LHW.
As Jim Watt said "Reg, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that Nigel's been hitting guys who are probably weighing over 13 stone while he has to build himself to the 12 stone mark."Originally Posted by BK
Lenzie Morgan, Mauro Galvano, Nicky Piper, Lou Gent, Chris Eubank - all big LHW's (while Benn was only really just a small MW).
Benn chose to out-box Wharton because he knew Wharton posed a major threat with the hook, and Giminez has never been taken off his feet in his life!
Benn did lose speed when he left Brian Lynch, the weight-training then slowed him down because he wasn't doing Lynch's speed work and stretching exercises etc (he was doing long, draining workouts in Miami).
michael watson schooled eubank and he wasnt the slickest boxer
No one would make Calzaghe look stupid.Originally Posted by Starr
None of the guys mentioned would of done as good a job on Lacy as Calzaghe did.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
like i said herol graham would of been toughest test out of them and no way eubank would make calzaghe look bad u must be kidding.
