Interesting but fair views from Schaefer IMO, its interesting what he says about the score cards. What do you think about this? I certainly think a rematch is fair with what happened, and I certainly believe it would be a good fight if they were to fight again. I think on netrueal ground Khan will do enough to beat Peterson on points. But Khan needs to just focus on what he needs to do, the showboating and excessivley getting hit with shots proved nothing IMO. Khan should be a lot more mature than that especially considering that a Mayweather fight wasnt too far away. He gave away too many rounds with trying to prove that he has a chin and I believe it cost him on the scorecards. No doubt without the points deductions I think he would have won, hopefully Peterson will keep his head up this time and Khan won't push as much. Peterson will have to put in a hell of a performance to defend his titles, but I think Khan should win if he isnt stupid!
First off, Tam, I agree with your thoughts on a rematch and on the fight going for Khan if not for the point deductions, which I though were unfair (though not quite to the level of mandating a reversal of the outcome).

On the article/Schaefer's comments though, this "scoring irregularity" thing is the biggest red herring/load of crap I've ever heard. There are like 6 paragraphs of talk about the judges' scoring and absolutely nothing of substance there other than an extremely speculative conclusion that "where there is smoke there is fire." If you credit the point deductions, as the judges were required to do, a Peterson win is not particularly controversial.

Complain about the reffing, sure, though it wasn't quite extreme enough to mandate a reversal. But the judges did their jobs just fine.
