OK I will have to go first, Pavlik with his drug addiction of drinking, could have been a great instead of a bum which is what he is.

Pavlik comes to mind more recently, but there's been tons of fighters in the past with alcohol and drug problems.
Pavlik would likely be a drunk, whether he was a boxer or not. Boxing has just given him the financial means to do it on a larger scale. Part of being a "champion" is what you chose to do with your personal life, anybody can be a fucking drunk.
